Why the lack of posts, updates or anything else

Glad to see I haven't frightened you off or offended you enough yet. Don't forget to subscribe to the Feed and make sure you visit the store to get your hands on a piece of our art.

I know it’s been quite a long time since I posted anything at all on this blog or anywhere else for that matter. I can only ask for your patience and understanding in this trying time. I went to all my neurology tests and follow-ups only to be told that the major cause for my neurological problems is stress and depression. Talk about wanting to smack a doctor. So anyway, after that I decided to try a few new things and had the wonderful pleasure of suddenly having to deal with a virus called Win32:Vitro. In case you don’t know what it is or does, lemme tell you. If your anti-virus program happens to be one of the few that will detect it, you are going to have to format your entire hard drive. There is no other way to get rid of it. So I had to back up what little I could (it infects all .exe’s, html’s, doc’s, and I think php’s also) and format my computer. After that it was a loooong process of re-installing windows and all the other programs I use, plus re-inserting what backups I had, updating XP and all the other programs, digging out year-old backups and generally stating over from scratch. I still haven’t got everything re-installed and back to operational status yet.

As I said, I had decided to try a few new things before the virus, so that’s what I’ve been doing for a few weeks, on top of a billion other little things that life keeps throwing at me. I’m working on making wordpress themes for download and sale. I’m also getting things together to make flash games and toys. Both of these things have a rather intense learning curve, but WP themes are the easier of the two to learn. Expect to see my first hand-made WP available for free download very soon. After that I hope that things on this blog can return back to some semblance of normal. I’ll get back to posting my thoughts and pinups and free wallpapers while making more WP themes and learning what I can about flash apps.

BTW, this also means I’ll be changing the theme I use here. this theme is very visually appealing, but I think I can make something that loads faster and smoother. I’m also re-designing the theme for Briana’s Blog of Madness so keep your eyes peeled for a (slightly) new look over there too.

The Draconic Path and Faith 101 – the Code

Like any other religion or philosophy, the Draconic Path has a set of rules, a code of conduct we strive to follow. Unlike other paths however, we acknowledge that our code is a list of guidelines. We know that there is no real punishment for failing to follow our code. We strive to follow it because we want to better ourselves. To fail the code is to fail one’s self. We also know that over time the code must change and adapt, as we must change and adapt. Here is the Draconic code, as I have interpreted it.

It behooves all who are Draconic to act in ways that give respect to the old ways, to others, and to themselves. Therefore, be it noted that:

Ours is a high code of honor which is of most ancient origin, and must be lived by all who follow the ways of the Dragon. Read more…

The Draconic Path and Faith 101 – virtues

Following the Path requires changes in your lifestyle and perspective of the world around you. There are certain virtues espoused by the Draconic Path that you should strive towards. They are: Integrity, Honor, Discretion, Wisdom, Tolerance, Patience and Adaptability. I realize that many people see other things as virtues that are more important to them. I also know that there are a lot of you out there noticing what you think are glaring omissions. These virtues have been gleaned from studying the lessons of the great teachers and understanding the core of their purpose and intent. Many of the great teachers have attempted to get us to be better people, with varying amounts of success. It’s no wonder that there have been none of them to return when you consider their failure. They said good things, did good deeds and showed us how to be better people. How did the peoples of the world repay them eh? By going to War, killing each other over semantics and labels. Perhaps if we actually tried to emulate them instead of killing each other they MIGHT return and teach us more. Strive to be a better person, study everything around you and be always mindful of the Draconic Virtues.

The Draconic Path and Faith 101 – intro

I would say that wanting to be of the Draconic Path or Faith is a very personal decision and one that should only be made after careful study and serious contemplation. While it is a path based  largely on logic and reason, there are aspects which do require faith. It is not an easy path for some, although I daresay the world would be better off if more people could at least follow the Draconic Path if not the Faith. Why do I talk about the Draconic Path and Faith as if they are different things? Put simply, because they are. The path comes from the faith but doesn’t require belief in anything, only a willingness to be a better person. To be of the Draconic Faith is to follow the Path, but you can follow the path without being of the Faith. The ultimate goal of the Draconic Faith is to become as the Dragons of the Mythic Age. Noble, wise, honorable teachers and guardians. We strive to better ourselves and the world around us. I challenge you to follow the Draconic Path and I welcome you to embrace the Draconic Faith.

Devil Worship? You’re kidding right?

No, I don’t worship the devil. I don’t even believe in the existence of a personification of pure evil. I don’t even believe in pure evil if you must know. There may very well be negative or entropic influences in the universe but they are not under the control of one sentient being. The devil as people would have you believe is such a ridiculously complicated mish-mash of old gods and ancient superstitions that I doubt many people actually know what or who it ever was.
