Proposition 8 – More discriminatory nonsense

Hi! Since you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed to get updates.

*sigh* It’s so sad that people are still going on about this kind of thing. Proposition 8 is about changing the California constitution to say that marriage between homosexuals is unconstitutional. It’s ridiculous. Marriage should be between two consenting adults that love each other, regardless of gender.

The thing that really gets me is the fact that they are so worried about PEOPLE marrying each other, when there are states that allow you to marry an ANIMAL (or at least have sex with one)! What the fu(k is up with that? Shouldn’t we be more worried about getting that kind of thing off the books instead of worrying about keeping human beings apart? Or what about states where it is legal to marry a first cousin, or even closer relative? How about ones where it is legal (albeit barely, and with “religious” requirements) to marry a minor, or have multiple wives? (And interestingly, I’ve never heard it to be legal to have multiple husbands. Not that most of us would want more than one *wink*) Even though in many cases there are no laws FOR truly deviant activity, there are no laws AGAINST them either, and no one’s in an uproar about that.

Personally, I think love is love, and whom you love and want to marry should be up to you, not some band of religious nutcases who use an antiquated and ficticious book as reference for what people’s behavior should be. Homosexuality is not a disease, it is most often NOT a choice the individual makes, but rather a genetic decision that is made for them before birth, and there is science to back that up. So, if you go by the Christian belief that God makes all people, then God makes gays, and therefore they cannot be an affront to God, since he made them. But the zealots don’t like science, they always have a way of getting around proven fact, or just ignoring it. Makes me think of the “conversation” I had with my ex once about his insane belief that carbon dating is ficticious, and dinosaur bones are not remains of extinct creatures, they are false icons placed by the Devil to test Christian faith. Gimmie a break.

I believe homosexuals, bisexuals, transgender and all the other myriad people of the world have the right to marry as they see fit. I think all the books should say is that marriage must be a union between two (and only two) human beings of consenting age (18). Gender/sex/sexual preference should not matter.

Since I support gay marriage and the rights of people of a variety of sexual and gender orientations, if you have a pro gay marriage or pro-GLBT idea or design that you’d like to see on products, send the idea to me. If you go to my store, you can find a contact form there to send me ideas or designs. If I can make something from them, I’ll be more than happy to add them to my product selection. I know our designs are far from politically correct, and we like it that way. We stand up for what’s right, not what’s popular.

I also encourage people to stand up for what’s right. Stand up for GLBT rights in your area. Don’t let laws be made that destroy human rights. There’s enough of that already. We need to turn this country around before they start deporting anyone who’s not a hetero-white-Christian. (That may sound dramatic, but I’ve already heard people talking about it being in the works years ago.)

Yahoo Profiles becoming a social network?

I saw a headline in my SitePro News today and had to click it: Yahoo Profiles Becoming Social Network

Upon logging in I was presented with a welcome message and asked to update my profile. After clicking, I see that the minuscule amount of old profile information we were allowed to have has been pre-filled into the fields. We are no longer able to have a homepage link or “cool links”, but have been given several more “socially important” fields to fill out. I am then asked to invite my friends. I stop there, because I would think my 360 contacts would be added already. Apparently the two services are not integrated, they are separate entities. Why would I have a 360 AND a new profile as well? Right now, I see no point. I’m not going to invite anyone until I see if this is really going anywhere. I fail to see whay they did this as opposed to improving the 360 profiles.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Why I’m using MySpace less and less…

My god, that site has gotten so annoying! I thought it was great at first. You know, connect to people, blog, comment, message friends, seemed a great way to network and keep in touch with people. But there are people who have these godawful layouts that refuse to load, there’s music playing and videos loading, which makes the page never finish. Then they add the apps, and people add tons of them to their profile, making the pages load even slower, or just break.
What’s more is the fact that for some reason people feel the need to change their names all the time, so I never know who the h3ll anyone is anymore. I don’t know why they even allow people to do that. Your name is your name, stick with it and leave it alone.
So, with the slow load times of profiles, and the fact that the whole site is so bloated that it takes forever to use, I’ve just left it as it is, and I’m doing all my blogging here. I hope that people will come and follow me, but if they don’t I’m sure others will in time. Although the following thing is kinda new, and I noticed not a lot of people are using it yet. I wish there was a way to see if people you know have blogs on blogger. That would be a nice feature. Blogger doesn’t even have a way to search it’s own blogs. Hopefully that’ll come in a future site update.
