My former housemate found a game called Fact or Crap?, and it’s really a fun game. The rules are incredibly simple, you can play with 3-6 people, and it’s definitely fun, and a great way to use all that “useless” trivia you’ve got stored in the back of your brain. It’s as simple as deciding whether each question is Fact, or Crap. We’ve laughed our butts off at some of the stuff that’s true, and argued with the cards over the things that are false. I really think you ought to try this game if you don’t have it already. We’ve found it to be good family entertainment, and a neat way to build up even more of a reserve of screwy tidbits in your brain.

Need help finding a new blog layout

As this blog has grown, I’m coming to realize that there’s too much to fit into a 2-column layout. I really need to find a better free layout, but after tons of searching, I can’t find anything I like. So I figured I’d ask and see if anyone out there might be able to point me in the right direction.

Here’s what I want:

  • A dark layout (preferable in burgundy/reds, blues, or grey/black (nothing with a lot of light area
  • 3 columns, widget ready (I don’t like layouts that have the widgets coded in, and you can’t change them without digging into the code)
  • There must be clear distinction between the post entries, and between the widgets. I don’t want anything that runs all together.
  • Nothing that MUST have an image in every post.
  • Wide post content area. I don’t like layouts that are 50% or more used up by the menu columns.
  • Easy to read, but interesting to look at. I don’t care what the header graphic looks like, I can always make my own.

I really need a layout where I can get a lot into it, without it looking cluttered.
If you have any suggestions, make a comment on this post with the link to the theme. (Please make sure you link to a page that has both the download and preview links for the theme.)
Thanks!

Hoping that Zazzle will add income

Well, I’ve got a dozen designs live, and I’ve uploaded 50 more, which I’m planning on adding to products soon. (I may have it done by the time this posts.) I’m really hoping that adding items to Zazzle will bring in more money.

If it hadn’t been for CafePress changing their policies, I probably never would have gone to Zazzle. As you know from my past posts, I thought I was losing my CP store, and that Z was my only other option. Now I’m going to be keeping my CP store open, and probably adding more items to it, but I’m also going to be using Z, in the hopes that I can get some sales there, and add to our income.

I really wish that I was better at SEO, marketing and advertising. I’d be out there promoting our stuff, but it’s really not something that I’m very good at. I just make sure to blog about new designs and items, and have that feed to Twitter and Facebook. I do like that Z integrates into my Facebook. Maybe people will see the items on my profile and grab some stuff.

Well, I’ll be adding all the designs from CP to Zazzle, so keep your eyes open. The pricing will be different, and there is a much different selection of items. Z doesn’t have some things like the tiles and prints and dog clothes, but they have a much bigger selection of shirts, bags and mugs. Maybe you’ll find a design on something you like over at Z, that you couldn’t find on CP. Have a look!
