[laughs] I think it’s pretty funny that I just got done writing a post about how my mind went blank and I didn’t have any inspiration, and here I am writing another post already. Well, I guess this goes to show that if you relax and just flow with what’s happening, things can turn around pretty quickly.

I decided to go have some fun poking around at Pixabay. they have a large photo on the front page, and you can browse through some of their top picks. I figured it might inspire me, and at very least I’d get to look at some beautiful photography. I was clicking through and saw that guy up there. I don’t know what he is, but he caught my eye. I swear he’s doing some sort of bug boogie.

That got me to thinking about how fascinated I am by insects and arachnids. I like bugs. they’re so wonderfully diverse and amazing. So I started looking for more images. It’s going to be hard to only pick eight to feature! I mean, check this guy out! Apparently he’s a Filbert Weevil. What a nose! I can’t decide if he’s really cute, or if that’s a face only a mother could love.

I’m not sure what kind of insect this is, but isn’t it beautiful? I love that dotted strip in the wings and the long tails. It’s just so wonderful. Nature is truly amazing.

Isn’t this a beauty! I know, “Eww! Gross! Spider!” Sorry, I happen to think they’re some of the most beautiful and amazing creatures on Earth. And really, can you produce the earth’s strongest, most flexible natural material out of YOUR butt? I didn’t think so.

How’s this Herbacea Beetle for cool? He’s like a living gemstone. It’s amazing to think that nature was doing metallics in fashion long before we got it all wrong in the 90’s. I guess Milan wasn’t paying close enough attention to how to pull it off right.

This polydrosus sericeus is just… weird. But he pulls it off well. That is definitely a bold statement there, and this guy has no fear of being unique. I think I want one. [grins]

I love blue, and I love dragonflies, so this guy just has to get featured. Look at that color! the wings, the body, that’s a design marvel if ever I’ve seen one.

Only room for one more? Really? I could do this all day! Okay, alright, I guess the final spot has to go to this guy, the Assassin Bug. I’m not sure if this is an insect or an alien. He doesn’t seem to have vicious mandibles or anything, but he’s giving me the creep eye, and I don’t want to mess with him. he had to get his name somehow, and I’m not asking.
