Every day I get up and head to the computer to write for the blog. This is what I want to do for a living and I feel that I have to keep fresh content coming down the line to keep people interested and increase traffic. However, there are days when I just don’t feel like writing. Today is one of those days.

Luckily, it’s not one of those days where I don’t want to write because I’m feeling down or stressed. No, this is much better. I don’t want to write because I feel inspired to create art. I was an artist long before I was a writer, and I’m always pleased when the desire to make artwork comes to me, because it’s much more rare than it used to be. My head is usually full of things to write, but not so much with the artistic inspiration.

Last night we watched The Celestine Prophecy, and it actually got me really inspired. Not just for art, but for life in general. I don’t understand why so many people gave that movie bad ratings, it was actually really good. Good enough in fact, that I want to read the books as soon as I can afford them. At any rate, that movie was just what I needed and it not only gave me some new hope for life, but apparently it sparked my creative centers too.

The only down side is that feeling that I need to be writing or no one will come to the blog. That’s something I need to work on. I have over 1500 posts here, so there’s actually plenty of content to draw people in. I need to have faith that with all this content, people will still find the blog and the traffic will continue to increase even if I’m not doing new writing for a day or so.

I guess I really should do art today. Not only will it give me some time to work on another form of creativity, it will give me a chance to practice some calm and faith, which is surely a good thing. If we never had challenges, we’d never learn anything, would we? Oh, and fear not, if these images come out the way I’m hoping, I’ll be sharing them on the blog as free wallpapers. [smiles]

Sounds like an excellent plan. If it comes from your heart, it’s probably the right thing to do.
