Blood Red Bat Ankh (Egyptian Vampire) is a design from all the way back in 2009! I was (and still am) really big into vampires, and vampire ankhs were really popular. I wanted to make something a bit more unique than the traditional ones, that’s why I added the bat.
This is a really simple design, but I did play around with some effects to get it just right. I did this in PSP and it was new for me to do the multi-level rings around the image. You can’t really see it in the small image but the bat does have some distinguishing details, it’s not just flat black.

I mentioned it in passing in one of my other blog posts, but I wanted to dedicate a short post to letting you know that it would be a really good idea for you all to subscribe not only to the main RSS feed for this blog, but also to the comments RSS feed as well.
I don’t know how many other bloggers do it, and I don’t really care, but I have decided that rather than making a blog post for everything I have to say or not saying it because it’s too short, I’m going to make comments on my own posts. This way I can keep relevant information together, and keep people updated on various things.

Frozen Green Man God of Leaves is one of my Pagan designs. I know that religious designs are considered a no-no if you don’t want to alienate part of your buying audience, but I didn’t care. I wanted to make them and I did.
I like some of the Green Man imagery, and I really like this one. It has so many elements and looks so natural. The thing is, I wanted it to be something more unique, so I decided to go for the frozen look. I’m not quite sure how I came to it.

One of the challenges I’m constantly facing is how to maintain faith when there is no proof. I’m not talking about a higher power, I’m talking about the general belief that things will get better or change. If all you’ve ever had is what you’ve got, and you’ve never seen it get better, how do you continue to believe that it ever will?
I go through waves of depression over this issue. I want to believe, I want to have faith that my day is coming, and someday I’ll be able to look back on this shit life and it will just be an ugly memory. The thing is, it doesn’t change. I know what I want, I work for it, I pray for it, I try to believe in it, and it doesn’t come. It’s disheartening to say the least.

I was just watching Zookeeper and thinking about the way the people were acting in it. I know the movie itself is all about being who you really are, but the sad fact is there are people who totally miss the point, and people who actually act like what was depicted in the movie.
Griffin became something that he wasn’t in order to try to win a girl who wasn’t even right for him. Unfortunately, a lot of people do this, and actually women do it more than men. People will change everything about themselves in order to get someone to want them. The thing is, if they want you to change to suit their desires, then they’re not right for you. Eventually, the relationship is going to fall apart because you don’t really become what they want, or because you realize you’re miserable pretending to be someone else.
