How many social networks do you belong to?

Thank you for coming back! If you haven't yet, please subscribe to our RSS feed to stay up-to-date.

I’m curious to know how many social networks you all belong to. I have at least 16 including:  Facebook Pages, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Delicious, DandyID, Twine, Stumble, Friendfeed, RedGage, BlogCatalog, Yahoo!, Google, Kaboodle, weRead, Blinklist.

I’m wondering how many networks you use, what you use, and how useful you find them to be for both business and personal use. What networks do you find are best for meeting new people and making friends? Which ones are best for promoting your business? Are there any you use just for fun, with no other real purpose?

I find some of the things I’m using to be better than others. Some I hardly ever use. I like sites that I can connect to other services I use, such as being able to add my Twitter feed to my Facebook. I’m still upset that MySpace won’t make themselves compatible with outside services. I’d love to use my Twitter to update my MySpace status, but they won’t allow it. I can’t import an RSS feed into the blog the way I can on FaceBook either. I tend to aim for services that can be tied into one another, so I can have my entire network of friends and associates updated all the time.

Post comments and let me know what you’re using. I’d like to meet new people, but I’m also very interested in services that will allow me to promote my work. Oh, and I’m also only working in free services.

Attention all Bloggers… Please read

Hey all. I am putting this call out to all the bloggers out there.

I have been writing how-to articles for some time now, and since they are part of my income stream (which is seriously suffering right now), it would be of great help if you would link to them in some of your blogs.

I have written about 160 articles, which can be seen here: brianadragon | eHow.com
I have written how-tos on a variety of subjects. I would greatly appreciate it if you would take a look at what I have written, and if any of them relate to the topic discussed in your blog(s), please link to them. Be sure to look at all the articles, as I have written multiple articles on single subject, and you may want to link to more than one. For instance, I have written at least 10 articles about bird care and training, and many articles about herbal cures, Earth-friendly tips, and relationship advice.

When linking to the articles, please do not copy the article to your blog. However, feel free to copy and use the intro paragraph, photo and title. eHow doesn’t provide an RSS feed, but if you would like to have a feed of what articles I have posted, you can find the feed for my Twine here: Briana Blair | Twine . I Twine all my articles, so you can find feeds there, if you think they would be of use.

All links are greatly appreciated, and I hope that they will add useful and interesting resources for all your readers. Feel free to post a comment with the URL(s) of any posts you make that link to my articles. More traffic for both of us!

Also, if your blog has anything to do with CafePress or POD sites, you may be interested in linking to Blair & Peacock Creations Clothes, Art & More : CafePress.com

Making some changes here

I’m sure you’ve noticed that they layout here has changed. I really liked the other layout, and I spent a fair amount of time customizing it, but unfortunately, it was starting to look far too cluttered. I know this layout lacks some of the personality that they other one had, but I had to make a choice between form and function, and function won. I wish I could find a layout that was somewhere in between, but I couldn’t find anything. I hope you don’t mind the simplified look. Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy the content more now, and with this layout, there’s room for some improvements.

One of the improvements is the TweetMeme button on each post. You’ll see it at the top left of each post. This little button will show you how many times that post has been sent to Twitter, and allows you to post the link on your own Twitter.

I’ve also added a SwagBucks widget to the bottom of the right column. Now you can join SwagBucks from here, perform searches, get current SwagCodes, and see some of the prizes available, without leaving the site.

I also added a related posts widget on the left column. I’m not sure if it’ll be permanent or not, but it’s there for now. There’s also a list of related posts at the end of every post, to help you find other things on the blog you might be interested in.

You might also notice that I’m having a problem with the syndicated items from Twine. I’m sorry about that. I don’t know what’s wrong, and why it keeps saying that there are no posts, but I am working on it. If you want to get to the full article, you can click my full name down in the synopsis of the article, and it will take you to my ehow. Clicking the title will take you to Twine, then you can hop over to eHow from there too.

I’ll probably be adding and changing more, so keep your eyes open.
